Well its getting towards the end of my traineeship and I have really enjoyed it. It has given me so many skills and has increased my confidence a lot. I am very excited by my future in Library and Information work. I am not sure what area that I want to work in to be honest but have enjoyed working in Collection Management and with the Academic Librarians especially. I am off to do an MA Library and Information Management at MMU in September and can't wait to get started. My traineeship has been excellent I don't think I would change a thing about it I have been given experience in nearly all areas of Library and Information work. Going forward the things I have learnt this year have been so valuable and now I am reflecting on it I can't believe how much I have developed at Aberystwyth University this year. Last week I went for an interview for a part time job for when I study next year. It was a library assistant role and to be honest I felt very confident for the interview. The skills and experiences I had learnt this year gave me that confidence. During the interview I was able to draw on so many things from just this year and it confirmed to me how brilliant an experience this year was.
So I was wondering what is everyone else up to when they finish?
Do you have a clear idea of the area of Library and Information management you want to work in ?
Do you have any comments about your year as Graduate trainee? Would you change anything?
